Goodbye, Sakurai

After over 10 years of faithful service and printing over 70 million pages, we’ve just bid farewell to our Sakurai offset litho press.
Originally joining SAPC as a brand new press in 2007, it was one of three lithographic presses to join us in our move from Truro Road to our purpose-built factory on the outskirts of the town. Here it joined two new Heidelberg presses, working alongside them f0r five years.
It took specialists nearly three days to dismantle the 22-tonne machine, which is now to continue printing at a company in Hamburg, Germany.
The press is being replaced as part of a major investment programme, which will see the arrival of a range of new state-of-the-art equipment – more details of which will be revealed soon.
