Supporting close Cornish causes

As a local family business our connections have helped us grow in size, service and skill. Combined with a shared commitment to the company, we’re commited to giving something back to the extended family of our local community, causes and charities.

Our nominated charities, Cornwall Hospice Care and Reverse Rett were chosen for our personal connections with the support they provide.

We’re delighted to receive a badge of honour from the Hospice for our team’s recent efforts in their Great Cornish Cake Bake for which we received a gold medal for raising just short of £700. We’d all like to thank Judy Lawton and the fundraising team at CHC for the excuse to eat cake all day!

We’re proud supporters of the National Coastwatch Institution NCI at Charlestown and were delighted to be asked to support Wheal Martyn’s recent event presenting Cornwall’s Man Engine to St Austell.

With a team of staff who enjoy sport and the outdoor lifestyle living in Cornwall gives us all, we’re regularly getting behind local clubs and events. We sponsor the annual Imerys and St Austell Running Club marathon which runs around the Clay Trails behind our building and this year saw two of our staff pounding the paths.

We’re delighted to help our local clubs, sponsoring St Austell Cricket, Rugby and football clubs, St Blazey FC and the Wadebridge Camels (U8s).

We’re patrons of the Cornwall Sports Partnership who are currently taking nominations for their awards. As official sponsors for two of their awards we’re lucky enough to attend the ceremony and last year we were left humbled and inspired by the efforts of community volunteers who selflessly donate their time for people to participate in sport and activity across the county.

We’re proud members of the local business community, supporting the innovation, creativity and diversity that have come to define industry and business in Cornwall. We’re patrons of both Cornwall and St Austell Chambers playing our small part in promoting and developing commerce in our local area.

We’re honoured and excited to be sponsors of TedX Truro who have their first TedX talks Time and Tide taking place on 9th September at the Burrel Theatre.

Beth Mayman our Operations Manager is looking forward to attending the event, in particular a talk by Olivia Lowry, a Cornish writer and performer who is inspired by the role of storytelling in heritage, conservation and community.

It’s great to see Olivia gaining such recognition and being included in the first ever TEDxTruro. She is a local girl from Pentewan, with great talent and ambition for telling people’s stories to ensure that our history is not lost, but is shared for generations to come.

If you’d like to offer support or simply find out more these local organisations email us on info@sapc.co.uk or call 01726 624900.
