SAPC’s story features at prominent conference

When we built our new factory on the outskirts of St Austell back in 2013, we were aware that it wasn’t just to enable our business to develop. We wanted to inspire new opportunities for the local area and support the growth of the economy of St Austell and Cornwall alike.

So we were honoured when asked if our story could be shared at the recent Growing Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly for all: Housing and Construction Conference. A five-minute video, featuring our MD and Owner Peter Moody and Operations Manager Beth Mayman was shown to the delegates and featured our sustainable Factory and Business Park.

The one-day event, organised by Cornwall Council and the Cornwall and Isles of Scilly LEP took place at the Atlantic Hotel in Newquay. The conference saw national and local investors, developers and businesses within the housing and construction supply chain gather to find out why our region is ripe for investment and growth.

SAPC was chosen as a exemplar of considered and ambitious development, which considered the development of it’s team above anything else.

Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly is an attractive region with plentiful assets. The LEP and Council are taking a collaborative and strategic approach to our growth by linking local strategies; believing that together they can underpin nationally important projects and grow the economy for all.

In preparation for a Local Industrial Strategy the CIoS Local Enterprise Partnership in collaboration with the business community have developed a 21st Century’ pitch to Government and business for future investment.

Called ’10 Opportunities’, the LEP’s prospectus showcases how technology is helping to drive new industries like space, e-health and marine energy, and can transform existing sectors like agriculture and mining. It also highlights how construction and housing underpins all sectors and is a key asset for our region.

SAPC were pleased to print the booklet locally in our factory, and elements of it’s production process were documented in the video. You can read the 10 Opportunities here.
