SAPC announce continued partnership with TEDxTruro

St Austell Printing Company has announced their continued sponsorship of TEDxTruro in October.

This is the third year we are sponsoring the event, which takes place at Truro College. SAPC will also print the event programmes in our sustainable factory.

This is the fourth consecutive year that the day-long event has taken place, featuring a wide range of insightful speakers covering subjects based around this year’s theme: “Uncharted Waters”.

TEDxTruro is a licence of the popular TED conference, devoted to ideas worth spreading. Started as a four-day conference in California 30 years ago, the two annual TED Conferences invite the world’s leading thinkers and doers to speak for 18 minutes or less.

TEDx is a program of local, self-organised events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience.

Matt Bunt from SAPC said: “We are delighted to continue our support of TEDxTruro, an event set to advance the innovation, creativity and diversity that have come to define industry and commerce in Cornwall.

“Life can get hectic, so TEDxTruro provides a good opportunity to take some time out and be inspired. Having attended the event for the last two years, I’ve found the ideas and stories really useful and I’ve certainly taken things away with me which have translated into both my professional and personal life.”

Speaking about this year’s theme, TEDxTruro co-licensee holder Joe Lewis said: “Speakers will be sharing their stories about overcoming obstacles, breaking new ground and pushing the envelope.

“Whether we feel we have been cursed to live in ‘interesting times’, or in an age of new and exciting opportunities, there is no denying that 2019 has seen people taking ever greater steps into new and unexplored territory.

“Our talks’ line-up will take us on journeys into the unknown, both literally and figuratively. Each will be different, thought-provoking and inspiring – encouraging us to challenge our perceptions and consider new ideas.”

TEDxTruro takes place at Truro College on Friday, October 25. Tickets are now available to buy on www.tedxtruro.com.
