St Austell Printing Company are very proud to support TedX Truro 2017, which takes place at The Mylor Theatre, Truro & Penwith College on Friday 27 October.
The first seven speakers have been announced for the 2017 event, and includes published authors, an athlete, campaigners, distinguished scientists and ordinary people with a story to share.
TedX talks are inspired by the TED conference, where some of the world’s best thinkers and doers give the talk of their lives. In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED created TEDx, a program of local, self-organised events to bring people together to share a TED-like experience.
The first confirmed speakers are Shawn Brown, Joanna Grace, Hayley Goleniowska, Simon Jackson, Fred McVittie, Laura Penhaul and Duncan Williams. You can find out more about them and the subjects they will be covering here.
St Austell Printing Company are proud and honoured to support this inspirational event, working with organiser Mandy Reynolds of Stephens Scown to print the event brochure.
Matt Bunt, Marketing and Communications Manager at St Austell Printing Company said: “Last year’s talks were so incredible, unique and clever that we jumped at the opportunity to sponsor the event again.
“There is a rich history of industry and commerce in Cornwall pushing beyond barriers to evolve and grow, including ourselves. So the subject of this year’s event is very pertinent and we look forward to sharing in these ideas in October.”
Jon Hart, Regional Sales and Account Manager at St Austell Printing Company said: “Looking through the confirmed line-up so far, it’s hard to select just one that I am looking forward to watching.
“However, I am especially looking forward to hearing Laura Penhaul’s experience of her row across the Pacific. What a great achievement.”
Jon continued: “We work with a significant number of businesses across the UK, helping them to use the power of print to push beyond barriers – so we are especially looking forward to this years’ TEDxTruro.
Mandy Reynolds, TEDxTruro Curator and Licensee said: “The overwhelming feedback from the audience who attended last year was how fantastic it was to have this kind of event in Cornwall – and how different it was to other events held in the county.
TEDxTruro’s second event, which will take place in October 2017 looks set to replicate that energy and positivity, with a fantastic line-up of speakers.”
The next TEDxTruro event, ‘Beyond Barriers’ will entertain, challenge and inspire. You can find out more details and buy tickets here.
