Piran Marine are a Cornwall-based company specialising in advanced composites manufacturing and repair for many prestigious clients on racing yachts, super yachts and rescue vessels who contacted SAPC to create a portfolio with a difference – showcasing the plans of a new product.
The Project
We were contacted by Piran Marine for our assistance in printing and binding a portfolio, showcasing the plans of a new product.
Piran Marine are a Cornwall-based company specialising in advanced composites manufacturing and repair for many prestigious clients on racing yachts, super yachts and rescue vessels.
The product being featured was designed for a super yacht, therefore the quality of the portfolio needed to reflect this. The client sent us photos of the style of cover they were looking for, requiring a very short run of five copies each containing 20 A3 pages.
Key Challenges
- 1
Project managing the various experts to ensure the project was delivered on-time.
Our Solution
Based on the artwork supplied by the client, we came up with a plan to produce a hard portfolio cover to accommodate the A3 pages. Our team liaised with a specialist binder to hand-build the covers, adding foiling to the logo and text on the front.
The covers were created from 3mm MDF enveloped in hard-wearing buckram and were then carefully drilled along one edge.
The pages were digitally-printed in full-colour on a good quality 300gsm matt stock, before being hand-bound into the cover using good-quality brass screws.
The team at SAPC co-ordinated the production of all elements to ensure the project was delivered on-time, on-budget and looked great.
